Happy Easter

Hi everyone,
Our Easter holidays start today. Our students have gone to eat their Easter cakes -known in Spain as "monas de Pascua- to Saint Bonifaci chapel in Petrer, Alicante. They have got an egg in the middle which I used to smash on someone's head when I was a child.

We have sent more than 200 Easter cards to our friends from England to wish them Happy Easter and they have done the same with us. Here you can see some of their pics. They have used their our lettering styles and have created these wonderful greetings for us.

Comparative of equality. Idioms.

Hello everyone,
We use comparatives of equality to say that people or things are equal in some way, we use the structure: AS + ADJECTIVE+ AS ................

Examples:
Madrid is as beautiful as Barcelona.

My brother is as intelligent as my sister.

My friends is as fast as me.

There are many idioms which contain the comparative of equality.
An idiom is a phrase or an expression that has got a figurative, or sometimes literal, meaning.

Recipes and imperative.

Hello everyone,
Lucía M, Year 6 student, has created this presentation to explain how to make pancakes to us.

Look at these recipe books? Are the instructions similar?

We use the imperative form when we want to tell someone to do something.
We also see imperative verbs  in recipes.
Imperative verbs (Bossy verbs) give orders or instructions. Can you remember these verbs from pancakes and smoothies? They are all imperatives.

Wash   Peel   Cut   Mix   Pour   Put   Cook  Toss   Heat    Drink    Eat   Sugar
Notice we use the base form of the verb:
Wash the strawberries  Add some sugar    Peel the onions    Put some milk in the jar   Mix the pancake.

To make a negative imperative put DO NOT or DON'T:

Don't cook it.   Don't peel the apples.   Don't add any salt.

REMEMBER:
You can use "please" to be more polite.
Don't make so much noise please.   Pass me the salt please.
